D-Day Related 3D Scans

After over 80 years it is remarkable just how much remains of the sites and objects that were vital to the success of D-Day. Whilst some like the Landing Craft, Tank (LCT) above have been preserved, other artifacts lay partly forgotten and beyond restoration.

Heritage organisations recognise the importance of these sites and some even have protected status. However, with limited resources there is often little that can be done to save artifacts that represent a moment that is fast slipping out of living memory.

We have compiled examples of sites that have been captured using a variety of non-invasive 3D scanning methods. These models represent a digital archive of these important D-Day related sites. Find out more about the technology here.
